West End, Roatan is more than just diving, drinking and sunsets, it’s also a fun food scene packed into a mile-long strip of sandy lanes and open-air patios. Whether you’re watching your budget or ready to throw down some lemps on a memorable night, we’re here to help you find the best restaurants in West End for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Here are some of our favorites, from cheap and cheerful to full-on splurges.

TRIGGER WARNING: This isn’t an exhaustive list. There are plenty of great places that we haven’t been able to eat at yet. This isn’t a “Best Restaurants in West End” list…this is a “Restaurants We Love in West End” list. It’ll change and grow as we experience more wonderful places. The goal is to shine light on some places that we KNOW we love. Have some places that you love that aren’t on this list? Throw ’em in the comments or email us and we’ll check them out. We’re also not going to post negative opinions. Not our thing.

**IMPORTANT NOTE** While we’ve provided website links where we can, many websites are not updated regularly. Don’t count on hours/menus/etc being perfectly accurate and don’t count on the “contact us” submissions to work, or even emails. Whatsapp is definitely the preferred contact for most places so we suggest using that whenever possible

Roatan Oasis (Splurge)

Perched on the hillside just above West End, Roatan Oasis has earned its reputation as one of the island’s finest dining experiences. The open-air patio is draped in greenery with herb gardens hanging from the rafters, and the dynamic, internationally inspired menu changes frequently to keep things interesting. Cocktails are inventive and beautifully executed. Make a reservation – this place fills up fast, and for very good reason. Closed Sat, Sun & Mon. Website Whatsapp: +504 9484 6659

Mila del Mar (Mid-Range to Splurge)

Tucked inside The Beach House boutique hotel near the Half Moon Bay traffic circle, Mila del Mar is a sunset dinner destination that checks every box: fresh seafood, creative tropical cocktails, warm service, and a dreamy view of the bay that turns golden as the evening sets in. The menu leans into fresh Caribbean seafood with upscale preparation – the grilled whole fish and fresh ceviche are standouts that showcase what the island does best with a touch of elegance. One key thing to make note of….their breakfast is INCREDIBLE and it’s not nearly as much of a splurge as their lunch/dinner menu. And that view in the morning is hard to beat. Open early for the pre-dive crowd too. Website Whatsapp +504 9971 7146

GINGER’S (Mid-Range)

Gingers is an absolute staple of West End dining. They’ve earned that for many reasons, including their idyllic location directly on the beach in a quiet corner of Half Moon Bay. But for me the primary draw has always been their seafood. While just about every restaurant in Roatan will sell you “fresh fish”, Ginger’s gets theirs (usually Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Tuna and Snapper) directly from local boat captains. They’ve got more typical bar food options too (including some killer wings) but the fish is where its at. Any of the fresh catch specials are amazing, but the crispy snapper sandwich is the absolute favorite for my crew. Closed Saturdays Facebook

Sandy buns (budget-friendly)

Impossible to talk about food in West End without talking about Sandy Buns. It’s ostensibly a bakery but its primary duty is to serve as a comfort food emporium to the hungry and enthusiastic masses. OK…masses might not be the word, as its a small establishment with with maybe 12 tables. But its an enduring favorite for just about everyone. Their sandwiches and burgers are astonishingly large and decadent (shout out to the Mother Clucker) and come with their addictive sweet potato fries with garlic. Breakfast sandwiches are no different. And their cinnamon buns are the stuff of legend. PROTIP: bring a few on your dive boat to share between dives. Instagram

SILVERSIDES (Mid-Range to Splurge)

A very well regarded restaurant that used to be on the other side of the island, Silversides moved to West End a few years ago and we’re lucky for it. A somewhat upscale place that offers a ton of variety right in the heart of West End. Perhaps because its right in the middle of everything (and above) I’ve overlooked this gem sometimes but every single time i’ve eaten there I’ve loved it. They’ve got a diverse menu that has more variety than most places, which is welcome if you’ve been spending a bunch of time in Roatan. They also have some excellent vegetarian options which can be hard to find on the island. Located right on the traffic circle in West End. If you see Coconut Tree Divers, the entry is via an adjacent stairway. Closed Sundays Website Instagram

anthony’s chicken (BUDGET-FRIENDLY)

Don’t let the simple name fool you , Anthony’s Chicken has achieved something close to legendary status among West End regulars, and for good reason. Jerk chicken is the move here, and its the easily the most delicious inexpensive meal you’re gonna find on the fly. The prices are some of the most budget-friendly on the island, which makes it a go-to for divers fueling up after a long day on the water and budget travelers who want something genuinely delicious without spending much. And its also very to-go friendly if you’re on the move. Get there early; when they’re out, they’re out.

Sundowners (Budget-Friendly)

If West End has a ground zero, it’s Sundowners – it’s the center of town where every evening seems to begin. When it comes to eating the menu is casual and crowd-pleasing: burgers, wraps, cold beers, and one of the island’s most beloved Monkey La La’s. Just about any of their frozen drinks served in fishbowl glasses are fantastic though. The atmosphere is a laid-back mix of expats, divers, and travelers, and on some nights there’s live music too. It’s more about the experience than the cuisine here, but a cold Salva Vida after a day of diving hits just right. Also if you’re a sports fan, upstairs is usually the place to be for a big game. JUnior’s pizza (Budget-Friendly to mid-range)

You didn’t go to Honduras to eat pizza, I get it. But also…sometimes you just really WANT to eat pizza. Pizza is objectively delicious. Well, problem solved. Junior’s is not only the best on the island, it’s some of the best pizza I’ve ever had period. Grab a six pack (it’s BYOB) and walk about 200 yards inland from the traffic circle in West End and you’ll see his spot next to Coconut Tree Plaza. It’s not the cheapest pizza on the island (or even in West End) but based on the popularity there aren’t many complaints. WhatsApp +504 3207-7949

Yahongreh (Budget-Friendly)

Small in size but mighty in value, Yahongreh is the undisputed baleada champion of West End. And might be the budget eats champion too. A baleada – the quintessential Honduran street food – is a thick handmade flour tortilla stuffed with refried beans, cream, and crumbled cheese, and here they pile on eggs, avocado, tomato, and your choice of meat to create something truly filling and delicious, all for $2-3. Grab one to go and eat it on the boat on the way out to the dive site. Tucked just off the road on the grounds of Chili’s hotel and open only for breakfast and lunch, it’s the perfect way to start the day. They’ve got bagels and a few more Americanized offerings too, but I recommend getting a baleada or the Típico which is a plate that includes eggs, sausage, beans, plantains, cheese and warm tortillas. It’s about the best 150 Lemps (about $6 USD) you can spend. Breakfast and Lunch only. Whatsapp +504 9354-7632

The best inexpensive breakfast in town!

tITA’S PINK SEAHORSE (Budget-Friendly)

Tita’s Pink Seahorse is a West End legend that earns its devoted following mostly because of Tita herself. Her welcoming personality is the soul of the bar, and the fact that she doesn’t suffer fools gladly makes it even better. In the old days she was in a ramshackle bar next to a hotel that looked like a bomb hit it. Just about everyone recalls those days fondly because it is impossible not to. To the extent that anyone can recall those nights, anyway. Since then she moved down the beach to one of the best spots on the island for relaxed sunsets on an incredible strech of beach. It draws a mostly mellow group of expats, locals and tourists that enjoy being slightly off the beaten path.

Some nights it’s sleepy. Some nights it’s raucous. But the food is low-key great across the board. The ceviche is hands down the best i’ve had – fresh, bright, and zingy with citrus and a touch of vinegar. Its less common these days but if lionfish is available don’t pass up the opportunity. (Shrimp and conch are the normal options) The menu includes lots of comfort/bar-food standards but But there are also some absolute gems like the aforementioned ceviche and Tita’s famous stewed chicken: one of the more savory and delicious things I’ve had on the island. It’s served with rice and beans in a way that feels like a proper home-cooked meal rather than anything you’d find at a tourist trap. You’ve got to order that ahead of time but it’s worth the extra effort. Website Instagram

Pazzo Italian Restaurant 💎 (mid-range to Splurge)

Tiny, intimate, and charming – Pazzo has just six tables and a chef-owner, Johnny Pedretti, who brings genuine Italian culinary craft to the Caribbean. The pasta is made fresh in-house, the ingredients are simple but exceptional, and the whole experience feels like a dinner party rather than a restaurant. This is a BYOB spot (grab a bottle of wine from Petrosun before you arrive), and reservations are an absolute must. (Call or text them via Whatsapp) The homemade fettuccine and weekly specials are good places to start, but it’s kinda hard to go wrong. Whatever Johnny is feeling inspired by that night, follow his lead. (Whatsapp +504 9889-1732)

Café Escondido ☕ (Budget-Friendly)

Café Escondido is a low-key spot that has a great, relaxed vibe. And perhaps what I love the most about it is it offers a change of pace from what most restaurants offer. Perched above West End Divers with a breezy ocean view, it serves excellent espresso drinks, fresh smoothies, and a menu of all-day options including salads, soups, and hearty breakfasts — all at prices that feel refreshingly reasonable for Roatan. But the Asian rice bowls and noodle dishes are what do it for me. One of my favorite warm, healthy and delicious lunches after a morning of diving. Closes about 2:30pm. Closed Mondays.

Creole’s Rotisserie Chicken 🍗 (Budget-Friendly)

Ask anyone in West End what you absolutely must eat before you leave, and nine times out of ten they’ll point you toward Creole’s. Known simply as “Rotisserie Chicken” to most locals, this beloved spot turns out juicy birds on the grill every single day. A whole chicken with two sides — think coconut beans and rice and garlic yucca — runs around $15 and is one of the best inexpensive meals on the island. They also do excellent desserts. Just one important tip: get there early….by about 5:30 PM or risk missing out entirely. They sell out, reliably, every night. UPDATE: Due to a medical issue it has been closed the spring of 2026. They appear to be back open but probably worth checking ahead of time. Instagram

West End’s dining scene is one of those rare things that can be rewarding to many different types of visitor — unpretentious, fresh, and full of character. This isn’t for Michelin Star chasers, this is real cuisine and there is a lot to love. Whether you’re coming off a morning dive or watching the sun go down over Half Moon Bay, there’s always a table with a perfect view. Buen provecho!
